Why a fixed set instead of an endless generator

Wend is not like Zip or Queens, where a board can be grown from nothing and is solvable by construction. A Wend board needs real English words whose letters can be packed into one grid without overlaps, so generating a valid one on the fly means running a search that can fail. Rather than ship a generator that quietly produces broken boards, this page deals from a fixed set that has been solved and checked, and the Play hub covers the games that genuinely can be generated without limit.

How to use it

Playing

Practising with a purpose

The daily puzzle gives you one board and no second try, which makes it a poor place to work on a weakness. Here you can take the same 7×7 shape repeatedly and experiment: start from the longest word, or deliberately start from a corner tile and see how far you get. Nothing is scored and no streak breaks.

What the board cannot do

It will not track your progress between visits, compare you with other players, or mirror today's official puzzle — it is a practice tool, not a clone of the daily game. If you want the actual daily answer, it is on the homepage; past puzzles are in thearchive.

Sources and method

The rules imitated here are the published rules of the official Wend puzzle. The boards in the set were produced by our own packer and verified with our solver; they are not lifted from the official archive.
